Spring Schedule

Welcome to Culinary Arts

We’re thrilled that you’ve found your way here!

Thanks for checking out the Diablo Valley College Culinary Arts program—a place where your passion for food meets purpose, creativity, and professional opportunity.

At DVC, we don’t just teach recipes—we teach thinking cooks. Our curriculum is designed to help you understand the “why” and “when” behind every technique, empowering you to adapt, innovate, and lead in a fast-paced, ever-changing culinary world.

You’ll find that our kitchens are more than classrooms—they’re a safe space to take risks, try new things, and make mistakes. We believe in fostering a growth mindset where students are encouraged to experiment, explore their culinary identity, and discover their own unique voice in the kitchen.

But our program goes beyond the kitchen. You'll gain essential skills in entrepreneurship, marketing, communication, time management, and leadership—preparing you not only to succeed in the culinary arts, but also in the broader food and hospitality industry.

You’ll train with world-class equipment and cutting-edge tools, including the latest culinary technology and innovations in contemporary cuisine, food science, and brewing. Whether you dream of opening your own food business, becoming a chef, or exploring food innovation, you’ll have the tools and training to turn those dreams into reality.

And perhaps most importantly, you’ll be supported every step of the way by faculty who are passionate, experienced, and deeply committed to helping you find your path. Our instructors are mentors who meet you where you are, guide you toward where you want to be, and help you build a career that is both meaningful and rewarding.

At DVC, food is the byproduct. The real product? A confident, capable culinary professional ready to lead, create, and thrive in the ever-evolving food landscape.

We can’t wait to see what you’ll bring to the table.

Warmly,

Aaron Prater
