Welcome to Addiction Studies

Welcome to the Diablo Valley College Addiction Studies Program!

I am Dr. Brandon Ignatowski, Program Lead for the Addiction Studies program at Diablo Valley College, and I’m excited that you’re considering joining us! If you’re passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and want to build a career in addiction counseling, our program is designed to give you the skills, experience, and support you need to succeed.

One of the biggest advantages of our program is that you can start working in the field right away. Once registered, you can begin working in addiction counseling immediately. This allows you to gain real-world experience while continuing your education at your own pace.

From day one, you’ll receive one-on-one faculty guidance from start to finish. Our instructors are deeply invested in your success and will be there to support you throughout your journey. To help you transition seamlessly into a career, we offer internships that lead to real job opportunities. These internships provide hands-on experience in the field while allowing you to build professional connections that often lead to long-term employment.

Most importantly, when you join the Addiction Studies program at DVC, you become part of a welcoming, lifelong community. Our students form strong, lasting relationships, and our program is built on a foundation of support, motivation, and personal growth. You’ll be surrounded by people who understand your journey and are committed to helping you succeed.

If you’re ready to take the next step toward a fulfilling career in addiction counseling, we’re here to help. Feel free to reach out with any questions—we’d love to welcome you to our program!

Warm regards,
